Beyond Bristol takes you off the beaten track, beyond your usual route, beyond the tarmac and on a running adventure like nothing you’ve ever experienced before. It’s both accessible and welcoming - think lots of signage, support and a city centre start and finish - and totally wild - get ready for parks and woodland, riverside trails and plenty of mud. There’s a 25km trail option or a 55km ultra if you want to push yourself even further - but remember, you can take it at your own pace. Walkers, joggers, runners - everyone’s welcome at Beyond Bristol.
Left Handed Giant are a Bristol-based brewing company, with three premises across the city. They make a variety of styles from their two brewery sites based in Bristol, one at their taproom in St Philips, and one at their brewpub in the heart of the city. Inspired by the spirit and ethos of their Left Handed Giant Run Club we’ve partnered with them for our Beyond Bristol event. Their ethos is to promote Equality, empowerment, and community within their city through running.

Provisional route is subject to change
Beyond Bristol 55km route heads alongside the Avon through the city centre and out to the west of the city limits. Runners enjoy spectacular views from all angles as they pace under the Clifton Suspension Bridge, then climbing through Leigh Wood Nature Reserve and eventually crossing the bridge into Clifton. Here, the route turns and heads back on itself into the city centre, joining the Frome Valley Way urban riverside trail. Then, leaving the river, the route passes through Eastville park and links with the Bristol and Bath Railway, covering over 10km on the old railway before joining the River Avon Trail. On the riverside, the trail loops back under the railway and snakes back into the city to the finish.
